Lesson 7 - Visual Language Presentation

For this lesson we were taught about visual language. One of the things that we focused on was the visual language for good and evil characters, for example good characters tend to have more curves and soft edges, like mine pictured below. And evil characters tend to have more spikes and rough edges that are more imposing like mine pictured below.

For my good design I took inspiration from characters like Tyrael from Diablo 3 and used a simplistic style, because for a good character angels are the most frequently shown and then decided to make it simple because a good angel is sometimes represented by a bright glow, so i thought an agel would look mostly simplistic. For my evil character I took inspiration from characters like Diablo from Diablo 3 and Azmodan from the same game, the reason I looked at these was because they are some of my favourite villains design wise they incorporate the spikes but also have a menacing look. So for mine I decided to have the evil character have a large amount of spikes and rather than having a face giving him a helmet or mask, to give the impression that he had to hide his face for some reason. Also I decided to give to give him a weapon, specifically a huge sword mounted on his back that features a large amount of straps and bolts.
